Jose L. Valencia, MD, PhD, ASCP-CP, attended Universidad de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico, and received his medical degree in 1970. Upon relocating to the United States, he conducted his pathology residency at The Texas Heart Institute in Houston, TX. In addition, he completed his hematopathology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and CHI St. Luke’s Health. Dr. Valencia received board certification in anatomic and clinical pathology from the American Board of Pathology. And, he is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Hidalgo-Starr County Medical Society. Dr. Jose L. Valencia attained clinical pathology recertification with the American Society of Clinical Pathology. In addition to his medical degree, he holds a PhD acquired at Baylor University.
